Dr. Carrie Koo, DACM, L.Ac.

She graduated valedictorian and received her MSTOM from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine(PCOM) in NYC, and  a Doctorate in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine (DACM) from PCOM in San Diego.

In addition to receiving extensive training at the PCOM NYC Clinic, Carrie also interned at the Kamwo herbal pharmacy, as well as at the neurology unit of Lutheran Medical Center of Brooklyn, treating patients with neurological disorders or in post stroke recovery.

Before pursuing her life-long passion in Chinese medicine, Carrie received MS and BS degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and enjoyed working for the research and development organization of a major telecommunications company for many years.

In addition to her training in Chinese medicine, Carrie practices and teaches the Soaring Crane Style QiGong and has studied under the late QiGong Master Wu Yi. She also practices TaiChi and is a student of Master Zhang Gui Fong, a national level TaiChi and Martial Arts master from China who presides as a judge in many TaiChi competitions held in the US. One of Carrie's hobbies includes the study and practice of Chinese dance and she has taught Chinese classical and folk dances in a local Chinese school for many years.

Carrie is the founder of AcuMeridian Wellness Clinic. With the mission to provide personalized, high-quality care to her patients, Carrie not only draws on her medical training, but also on her life experiences in QiQong, TaiChi, as well as her training in logical thinking as an engineer to arrive at the best possible treatments for her patients. It is her goal to not only treat, but also educate and partner with her patients to achieve optimal health.

Carrie is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Leslie Aurino, L.Ac., MSTOM

Board Certified and licensed in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York, Leslie studied Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in New York City, receiving her Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM).  In addition to PCOM’s intensive didactic curriculum, Leslie participated as an Intern in PCOM’s Community Clinic and Outreach programs, located in and around New York

Prior to attending PCOM, Leslie earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, where she majored in Business.  She spent many years immersed in Corporate life and is intimately familiar with the stress associated cubicle life, as well as the impacts on the body, mind and spirit.  Consequently, the stress led her on a journey to seek alternative modalities to support her own health and well-being.  She found the benefits of Chinese Medicine so profound and positive that she enrolled in Pacific College of Oriental Medicine to become a practitioner.

Continually adding to her tool-kit, Leslie has continued studies that include Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Five Element, Classical Pulse Diagnosis, Shen-Hammer, and Kiko Matsumoto, to name a few.  These traditions and practices enhance her understanding of the mind-body connection and energetics that have become the basis of her practice.  Leslie specializes in autoimmune, musculoskeletal conditions and psycho-emotional issues such as depression, stress and anxiety.   Leslie’s goal is to provide patients with integrative options for optimal care by building a bridge between Eastern and Western philosophies of healing and health through Oriental Medicine
